Finally - more!

So, I have been waiting 2 months to tell that secret. It was SOOOO hard at first! And it's made it seem like I'm not really pregnant, especially because you don't show for a while and I really haven't had too many problems up to this point. I'll let you know that we're due ------ December 7 and can't be more excited!!! It's between Thanksgiving and Christmas, which makes it way easier to take time off work for the holidays. :) If you're in for more details, keep reading. I have been wanting to have a baby since about a year ago (we had been married almost 2 years at that point) - before we went on our tour with the Folk Dancers to Europe. But, Danny had JUST switched his major and was way stressed out as it was. He couldn't fathom adding a baby to that mix. So, even though I pestered him for a few months, I had to let go finally. I thought we wouldn't start thinking about it for another year, at least. Well, December rolled around and surprisingly Danny said he was ready to talk about it!!! But, then I freaked out because I realized how expensive of a proposition that was. Luckily, I happened to find out that same time that my job teams up with AFLAC for some great benefits, and I got signed up right away. Sad thing was, we couldn't start trying for a couple months. That seemed like so long to wait. Then, when we actually did start trying, THAT seemed like an eternity as well. Especially since the first month was a strike. But, somehow the Lord prepared me for what lay ahead for me - I got a kidney stone, which I'm sure you all will remember. Then, wham bam, I got pregnant. I wasn't even expecting it. Hahaha - funny how things work.

April Fool's morning (yes, quite funny), I took a test and it was positive! I shed a few tears, we hugged, and then I went to work. I could hardly contain myself! It's such a hard secret to keep.

I knew when:
- I went to the Folk Dance Spring Festival of Nations concert and talked to friends Bethany & Thomas and Jesse & Stephanie who both were expecting. THAT was hard.

- I went up to my in-laws for Conference weekend and was talking about Danny's cousin and his wife who announced April Fool's they were pregnant. So, I talked about their pregnancy but really wanted to talk about mine, but couldn't do that without Danny (he was back in Provo). Don't worry Laura, it was all good stuff. :)

- I went to Amy and Colin's wedding and reception and found out about ANOTHER friend who was pregnant. Again, THAT was hard not to want to talk about it.

- I REALLY wanted to tell a few friends at Deborah & Adam's wedding reception, but again, held it back.

- The SPAC little reunion thing that Holly set up. Was GOING to tell, but decided it would be more fun at this point to wait. After all, I had already waited this long.

... and so forth.

The pregnancy has been fairly easy up to this point, so I won't complain! A few minor aches and pains as the muscles stretch and grow, increased appetite during month 2 so that I was having to eat every 2 hours or my stomach would scream at me, and fatigue/exhaustion. I've been sleeping, a lot! I've decided I REALLY need a napping space at work. I feel pretty lucky after hearing horror stories about other friends' pregnancies.

Again, we couldn't be happier. We feel really lucky that everything is working out according to plan. We had a 3 month window of opportunity to get pregnant, and we did. The Lord has been very kind to us, no doubt about that. Maybe it's really for me because I've been so impatient. Danny had been thinking about it and finally decided to go sell because he really wants to help us get ready for this baby. Maybe now it makes more sense as to why we're choosing to do what we're doing this summer - it's all for the family. We just couldn't tell you until now! :)

Everything is going well as far as I or the Dr can tell. I have had 2 Dr visits, 1 ultrasound and 1 doppler where I got to hear the heartbeat today, and I've gained 1 lb (strangely enough, because it's not like I've been throwing up or eating less and I'm SURE not dancing anymore!) :) I was waiting for that confirmation to tell the news, and now you know. We'll keep you posted as things progress. I'm hoping I'll really start to show in the next couple weeks, then maybe I'll start posting pictures.

We were just hoping for a baby. :) Preference might be leaning more towards a girl at this point (especially if you ask other family members who are excited for new titles). Plus, girls are cute to dress. But boys are fun to play with. So, we'll see what happens.

bah!!!everyone is having babies! di you know about sarah and justin?!? they found out april fools day too! wow, well I'm so excited for you and Danny, december can't come soon enough. I'm so excited for all these folk dance babies :) please call me to babysit anytime, i'll have to live vicariously for a few years, but that's ok with me! oh you're going to have the most beautiful child, that's for sure. CONGRATS!!!

I can sympathize with the waiting... we knew for seven weeks before we finally told everyone on April Fool's just so we would have a killer joke to trick my mom with. I hated not telling! That does make me laugh, though, that you found out the same day we officially announced.

Our babies will only be two months apart...we'll have to get together with them, too!

By the way - we are coming to Utah in 2 weeks! My mom wants to do a baby shower/open house so I'll be telling you when that is.
