a quick update

Friends,

It's been way too long.. I can't believe it! Just so you know, we're still here, alive and well. I was disenchanted with the whole blogging thing over the last few months, as you can tell by the lack of posts. But tonight, I thought I'd catch up on a few of you to see what you were up to. As a result, I thought I'd leave a little update on us, just in case anyone out there still checks our blog.

Carson is now 8 months old and how crazy fast time flies! I remember how Danny and I were just a few months ago making a list of things we wanted to do this summer, to make it the "SUMMER OF ALL SUMMERS" as I call it. And now, it's almost to an end. And Carson is going to be 1 before I know it. Eek!!! To all you new moms - watch out! It goes by way fast (though it sure didn't seem that way in the beginning, let me tell you!) He's now scooting along the floor, "waving" hi, talking gibberish amongst his spitty, slobbery raspberry sounds, eating solids, and throwing fits when you take away something he was playing with. I have to admit, though - THIS is what I was waiting for. I LOVE it. Aside from the whole 17 lb baby thing, I wish all babies came out at this stage... skip the newborn stuff. BUT... at the same time, I guess it's taken me a while to "fall in love" with being a mom and Carson. Maybe some of you can relate, and some of you are probably saying "what?! you didn't LOOOOOOVE your baby the moment he was born???? You're a horrible mother." I love my boy... and I think it was all the hard stuff that has created an even stronger bond for me, so I'm grateful for how everything has worked out. Everything is great right now.

We just got back this week from a very long road trip to California and Arizona where we got introduce Carson to lots of family! 13 days, 4 states (start to finish), 3,040 miles complete with a trip to the beach and the Grand Canyon... and Carson was amazing. We had a good time. I haven't downloaded any pics yet from our cameras, so I'll have to post something later.

Anyway, change is in the air. The summer is coming to a close, Danny is getting ready for school to start at the end of this month, Carson is on his way out of the baby stage and into the toddler stage, and I'm likely changing up my work situation so I can be at home more with Carson. Change is good... and I'm excited for it.

Well, that's all I feel like saying for now. If you stop by, please leave a comment. I'm open to suggestions for what to post about next. Otherwise, you may not get anything new for a few more months! LOL. :) But then again, more friends will be leaving soon and I may have to get on more in order to get any updates.

AHHH I 100% agree about the infant thing-- it would be SO so nice if they could come out 6-8 months old. It really is so so hard to be a mom those first few months, I completely understand. It was so discouraging and frustrating at times to have to get through that first bit! Glad you made it, and it really does make it all the better, huh? Hope life is going well!

I'm so glad your back. And I can totally relate and agree with the newborn stage...it wasn't fun/easy for me either. I would love to see pictures of you and your little man!
